Research: Learn about film

Click here to find out more about the site.

What have I learnt from this site?

  1. Film more of a shot than actually need be, as this could be a way to join the shots together.
  2. Shoot in one direction, and then in the opposite direction as this makes the editing look less obvious. it also means that I can use shot-reverse shot, which will give more impact.
  3. How I should edit...
  • First you put shots in order (an assemble edit)
  • Then you trim them roughly so that they flow together (the rough cut)
  • Then you edit them precisely, adjust sound levels and add sounds and visual effects.
     4. Ways in which to make my film poetic; shoot through things, use reflections and                      shadows, compare similar things.
     5. Sound is as important as the images.
  • Use separate microphones
  • Shoot away from distracting sounds
  • Listen before/while shooting
  • Record silence
